Acupuncture is Safe and Effective for Kids!
Kids respond quickly to the treatments, often only needing 2 or 3 short treatments and possibly a 1-2 week course of an herbal formula. The practice of acupuncture and pediatric Tui na massage have been used for thousands of years and Japanese style non-insertion Shonishin can trace its roots back to 17th century Osaka, Japan. I have raised my 2 children, from the womb, through birth and childhood, using both Chinese and Japanese medicine protocols and Chinese and Western Holistic Herbs with wonderful and quick results. Through this medicine you can restore balance and help stimulate the child's natural healing mechanisms and do so right along with other conventional western treatment protocols, in a complimentary style often with better outcomes. I have also found that support for cold and flu season will benefit the child and the whole family in so many ways, it teaches the child about self care, laying a foundation for the rest of their life. There are many tools that are worth having in your parenting tool kit, and I am happy to share one of the most valuable I have found.

Protocols used in my Clinic:
- Tuina- gentle infant and children's massage, along the acupuncture channels and specific points, birth up to 7 years old
- Short acupuncture "taps" (1 minute insertion of very thin needles) usually for older children or when extreme issue requires, we can work up to longer times with the needles.
- Shonishin tools- little stainless steel tools used to tap, brush, or scrape the meridians that run along the body or the acupuncture points
- Cupping- small cups that suction to the skin and draw out the pain and stagnation locked up in the muscle tissue after injury.
- Liquid Moxa and moxa instruction for at home use- compressed mugwort that has vast healing properties
- Ear seeds- little stickers that press on the acupressure points
- Herbal formulas in easy to take tinctures or homeopathic tablets
